Official Visit to Saudi Arabia
Our Partner and Head of Intellectual Property Nalley Jummane visited Saudi Arabia to explore the rapidly evolving IP landscape in the Kingdom, meet with local IP authorities, and establish connections that will benefit our clients seeking to protect their intellectual property in the Middle East region.
Purpose
To understand Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and its impact on intellectual property rights, establish relationships with Saudi IP authorities and practitioners, and explore opportunities for our clients in the rapidly developing Saudi market. The visit aimed to position ECA as a bridge between African and Middle Eastern IP ecosystems.
What the Team Learnt
We learned about Saudi Arabia's ambitious IP modernization initiatives, gained insights into the Kingdom's efforts to create a more robust IP protection framework, and understood the opportunities presented by Saudi Arabia's economic diversification. The team also learned about cultural considerations important for doing business in the region.
